What can be the cause of your headache?

Headaches are largely caused by stress or fatigue. When my husband does not get enough sleep and feels exhausted, invariably he gets a migraine attack the next day. This increases his irritability on things however small. It is the same with me too. I get headaches whenever I feel extremely stressed.

Headaches can also be caused by hormonal changes, PMS, allergies, high blood pressure or even poor diet. I know at least 3 girlfriends who get pounding headaches whenever they have their periods. I will consider their experience frequent as this means that at least once a month, they are unable to function properly.

Those who get frequent attacks of migraine should best avoid eating cheese, chocolate, orange and drinking caffeine. Although it is difficult to prove the causal relationship between these food and getting headaches, people who changed their unhealthy diet to a healthier one have reported greater sense of wellness.
