Coconut Water For Health
Coconut water is one of the latest fad in the beverage world. No…I am not referring to the coconut oil which is already known to provide good benefits.
Coconut water comes from the inner liquid known as the endosperm inside fresh young green coconuts. If the coconut is allowed to ripe and mature, then the liquid is absorbed back into the husk of the fruit and it eventually becomes part of the coconut “meat”.
You would be surprised to find out that coconut water tastes delicious and is great for hydrating your body. Apparently, sellers of this beverage also claim that coconut water is great for the heart, digestion, weight loss, skin disorders and helps to rejuvenate you. Hence it is excellent for just about anyone, including those who play sports due to its high water content.
Coconut water is a rich source of potassium. Potassium is a very important electrolyte as it maintains water retention, cell functions and helps to regulate the nervous and heart systems. In cases, where you are depleted of eletrolytes, due to illness, diarrhea or simply consuming unhealthy diets day in and out, you will find it beneficial to drink up on coconut water.
In the market, there are several brands of coconut water such as Zico, O.N.E and Vita Coco. Not all prepackaged coconut water is created equal. You should choose the one that has no sugar or preservatives added. Of course, it is always best to have coconut water fresh.
